Portavadie Phase 3 – This phase of the works is currently under construction, with the Staff section due for completion December 2010 and the Visitors section due for completion February 2011.

Private Housing – We are currently constructing 2no. houses for private clients in Strachur and Portavadie.

Islay Re-Roofing - Nearing completion of an ACHA Re-roofing contract for 20no. propoerties

DYFL Clubhouse – With just some of the finishing touches left the new Changing Rooms extension to the DYFL Clubhouse was recently used during the Cowal International Youth Soccer Tournament 2010.

The Company was created in 1973. Ian McNee, current Managing Director, purchased the business in 1991. Ian is a time-served joiner with a keen eye for a quality product.
Anne McNee, Ian’s wife and fellow Director, is fully involved with the Company and together they have expanded their interests in the construction business with the purchase of Storie (Argyll) Ltd., William Wallace & Son Ltd., Lawries Electrical and Osborne Skip Hire.

These companies now form and integral part of the company and complement the core business of Stewart McNee Ltd. McNee’s now has over 60 employees covering all trades, many of whom have been with the business since apprenticeship.

Music Studio Cairndow

A new professional grade rehearsal and recording studio with accommodation has opened in Cairndow. The Cottage built by Stewart McNee(Dunoon Ltd) is located at Ardganavan Croft on the shores of Upper Loch Fyne. The owners Craig and Celene McIntyre previously operated Sound Accomodation a similar if smaller venture and it’s success persuaded the couple to invest in a purpose-built residential music facility.

We have a policy of employing ‘all trades’, thus reducing our dependency on sub-contactors and ensuring the highest quality of craftmanship. Where we do use sub-contactors for specialised areas such as blacksmiths, these businesses have worked with us for a number of years and are well aware of the standards we require. Our Sandbank workshop has benchhand joiners producing non-standard items to the quality standards we have set.

Stewart McNee have won the Argyll and Bute Council Planning Design Award on three occasions:-
